We are able to accommodate ambulant and non-ambulant young people with a wide range of complex needs where high levels of intervention are required. Care will be planned, managed and overseen by experienced general nurse, and designed to meet the needs of each individual / young person and their family.
Facilities

The age and developmental stage of each young person are considered when booking in to provide a compatible mix ensuring a harmonious and enjoyable stay. The age range can be accommodated due to the accommodation’s size, large dining area and lounge. The home is continually maintained to a high standard and is bright and cheery. We have an amazing purpose-designed accessible sensory garden which has been designed specifically for the needs and wishes of the young people where they can play safely and enjoy being outside.
All bedrooms are bright and airy and have fully adjustable electric profiling beds and en suite wet rooms.
There is a wheelchair accessible lift for easy access to upstairs.
Driftwood Lodge has three toilets so that hygiene requirements can be met in a safe, private
and dignified manner. Handling and equipment advice has been sought from an Occupational Therapist.
We have Health and Safety and ‘in house’ Fire Safety Policies in place and our staff receive training in these issues.
We are within walking distance to the seafront at Clacton-on-Sea which is wheelchair accessible, we can also access sensory room facilities and swimming for young adults with disabilities all on a local basis. The home is in easy reach of several New Model Special Schools and has good links with the two that are closest in proximity.
